When a cartridge for an inkjet printer runs out of ink, it becomes necessary to either replace the cartridge or refill it with ink. That in the first, that in the second case, the cartridge must be removed from the printer. If everything is done correctly and not in a hurry, then pulling it out of the printer will not be difficult. The main thing is not to overdo it and not to apply unnecessary physical strength. Otherwise, the print head could be damaged.

Instructions

Step 1

Although there are a lot of printer models, everything is arranged in them in about the same way. If this method is not suitable for your model, you can see it yourself. Also, the methods below can only be used with printers. Do not forget about the instructions - if you purchased a new printer, then you should have been given all the instructions, among which there should be information on removing the cartridges. If you have a multifunction device, then most likely none of the methods will work for you.

Step 2

Turn on the printer power. Wait for a while until it fully starts up. Then open the printer cover. After opening it, the carriage with the print head, where the cartridges are inserted, will begin to move. Wait until it stops completely. Then you can remove the cartridge.

Step 3

In many printer models, simply pulling the cartridge toward you is sufficient. In this way, the cartridge is removed from the latch, then you just need to pull it out (typical for Canon printers). If the cartridge won't budge, it's best not to rush or exert too much effort. Look, maybe there is a locking lever nearby. If there is one, then simply move it to another position, after which the cartridges can be removed.

Step 4

Also, in some printer models, to remove the cartridges from the latch, you just need to lightly press on them (typical for many Epson models). Then you will hear a click. The cartridges can now be removed.

Step 5

Owners of Canon IP series printers, for example, find it easier to remove the print head first, and then remove the cartridge. To do this, after stopping the printhead carriage, drag the locking lever to the down position, then remove the printhead with cartridges. To do this, take it from above and gently pull it down.
