A sound card is that part of your personal computer, without which you will not be able to listen to music, watch a movie and much more that requires sound. This part can be built-in, i.e. comes complete with the motherboard (integrated into it) or as a separate element that requires connection.

Instructions

Step 1

Activate the built-in sound card. This operation is required when this element is integrated into the motherboard. To activate it, go to Bios. To do this, turn on the computer and hold down the delete key. You will see a blue screen with a two-column list. Select the item responsible for setting the integrated elements. It is usually called Integrated Peripherals. Find it in the Advanxed tab. After completing this action, you will be taken to a menu where a list of all devices that are installed in the motherboard are listed. Among this list, find the Onboard Audio Controller item, which is responsible for connecting a sound card. If the device is Disabled in the parameters, change the current state to Enabled.

Step 2

Inspect your system unit by first unscrewing the fixing screws and removing the cover. If there is no integrated device, you need to purchase a separate card and install it in the corresponding slot on the motherboard.

Step 3

Purchase a sound card. This can be done at any computer store. Remove the metal cap on the back of the system unit to easily insert the sound card into the desired slot. When installing, do not use too much physical force to avoid damaging the board. After completing the connection, close the system unit, connect the speakers to the sound card and start setting up. To do this, start the system and install the appropriate software for this item, which must be included in the kit. If this software for some reason does not fit or conflicts with your operating system, download the necessary drivers on the Internet at the website of the sound card manufacturer.
