Instructions

Step 1

Select a DSL modem that works with your ISP's network. Usually, only support for a single data transfer protocol that the provider works with is required. Connect the purchased DSL modem to the mains and turn on the device.

Step 2

Now connect the telephone line cable to the DSL connector. To make such a connection, it is recommended to use a splitter. This device is a DSL cable splitter. But its main task is to separate high and low frequencies.

Step 3

Now connect the network cable to the Ethernet port. Connect the other end to the network adapter of your computer or laptop. Turn on this hardware and wait for the operating system to load.

Step 4

Now launch your web browser. Open the settings interface for your DSL modem. Go to the WAN menu. Specify the type of data transfer protocol. Usually, when using a DSL connection, the PPPoE type is selected. Enter the username and password that are required to pass authorization on the provider's server. Save the settings for this menu.

Step 5

Now go to the advanced network settings menu. Activate NAT and DHCP functions. Please note that if your ISP requires a static address for the network adapter, then it is better not to activate the DHCP option.

Step 6

Reboot your DSL modem. Disconnect the device from the AC power. Turn the modem back on. Wait for the device to boot and connect to the server. If it does not happen automatically, then log in to the web interface of the DSL Modem again. Open the Status menu and click the Connect button.

Step 7

Make sure the computer can access the Internet. If this does not happen, then reset the parameters of the network adapter connected to the DSL modem. Try to connect to the internet again.
