Instructions

Step 1

If you have a multiport DSL modem, no additional hardware is required to connect multiple devices. For a single port modem, purchase a network hub. Connect your DSL modem to the telephone line through the DSL port using a splitter to make this connection and split the channel.

Step 2

Connect power to your DSL modem. Turn on the device. Choose any LAN or Ethernet connector and connect a network cable to it. Connect the other end to the network adapter of any computer.

Step 3

Turn on the selected computer and launch an Internet browser. Below is an example of setting up a D-Link 504T DSL modem for accessing the Internet of the Webstream provider.

Step 4

Enter in the address bar of the running browser https://192.168.1.1. A menu will open containing the fields "Login" and "Password". Enter the word admin in them and press the Enter key. The web interface of the DSL modem will open in the browser window

Step 5

Go to the Setup menu. Locate the Wan Setup menu in the left column and navigate to Connection 1 located there. Select the type of data transfer protocol: in the Type field, specify the PPPoE parameter.

Step 6

Fill in the Username and Password fields with the data provided to you by your ISP. Enter the VPI and VCI values 8 and 35, respectively. Check the boxes next to Firewall and NAT.

Step 7

Click the Apply button to apply the entered values. Now open the DHCP Configuration item located in the LAN Setup menu. Turn on the DHCP function and set the range of possible addresses.

Step 8

Now open the Tools tab and go to System Commands. Click the Save All button to save the settings.

Step 9

Connect all other computers to the Ethernet or LAN ports of the DSL modem. If you are using a single-port modem, connect a network hub to the only LAN port. Then connect other computers to this device.
