There are times when, having completely scanned the system for viruses and removing them, after restarting the computer, they appear again. At the same time, no storage media were connected to the PC and there was no connection to the Internet either. The question arises, where did this virus come from? Most likely, it can be triggered from the operating system registry. In this case, a simple scan of your computer will not be enough. Additional methods will be required to solve the problem.
Necessary
Computer, antivirus software ESET NOD32
Instructions
Step 1
There can be no viruses in the registry itself. But in the registry settings that are responsible for the startup of applications, there may be a link to a malware or virus. Before starting the cleaning process, you need to set additional options to help you identify and fix the problem.
Step 2
Further instructions on how to remove malicious links and keys from the registry will be given using the ESET NOD32 antivirus program as an example. Enter the antivirus menu. This can be done simply by double-clicking the program icon on the taskbar of the operating system. Select the Scan option from the program menu. The window will display the possible options for scanning your computer, from which select "Custom scan".
Step 3
The topmost line is called "Scan Profile". Click on the arrow next to this line. The names of the scan profiles will open. Among them, select "Smart Scan". This method will allow you to check unknown files in more detail.
Step 4
The next line is called “Scan Items”. Completely mark all objects that will be in this window, including even RAM and virtual drives. At the bottom of this window there is also a "Settings" option. Click on it with the left mouse button and in the window that appears, select the "Methods" tab. In the next window, mark all the checkboxes in full, then click OK.
Step 5
Next, select the "Cleaning" tab. A bar appears with which you can set the cleaning level. Move the adjustment slider to the right to the “Thorough cleaning” line. Then click OK again.
Step 6
Now that all the parameters of the anti-virus program are set, click "Scan". Wait for the process to complete. If the antivirus detects potentially dangerous programs or links, they will be removed automatically. After scanning is complete, restart your computer.
