When removing the keys, pry them open carefully with a sharp, flat object such as a small knife or screwdriver. This is the only cleaning method that is suitable if sweet liquid (tea, juice, coffee, etc.) has been spilled on the keyboard.

If you only need to clean greasy stains on the surface of the keys, use cotton swabs or a soft cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol (regular rubbing alcohol or vodka can erase letters). For disinfection, you can use a special disinfectant solution, which should also be applied not to the keyboard, but to the cloth, which is then used to wipe the keys. This procedure is especially important if other people use the computer besides you.

You can use a dedicated USB vacuum cleaner to scrub dust and dirt from under the keys. This device is equipped with various small attachments that allow you to scrub the dirt between the keys, while the vacuum cleaner sucks them in, cleaning the keyboard. The opposite way is to use a powerful hair dryer or compressor, but such devices will not help from adhering dirt and stains.
