It is known that mixing different types of ink in a cartridge leads to their "curling" and subsequent breakdown of the printhead of the printer. To prevent this from happening, you need to thoroughly rinse the Epson printer cartridge. This operation is rather laborious and requires special knowledge.
Necessary
- - fittings;
- - adapter;
- - knife.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a working cartridge of the Epson printer and tear, or rather cut off a part of the label so that you can access the technological holes. This must be done without fail, since these holes go to the chip core, which is a memory chip.
Step 2
Prepare the fittings and insert them tightly into the technological holes of the cartridge. Connect the fittings using a cross adapter. Now you also need to find the bottom holes from which ink is supplied to the print head of the Epson printer. For them, you will have to pick up something like cuts of small plastic tubes. This will release the so-called non-return valves
Step 3
Connect the cruciform adapter and the water faucet with the specially prepared rubber hose section.
Step 4
Turn on the water. Check that the water temperature is at room temperature, as too cold water ineffectively rinses the cartridge, and hot water can damage it. Also pay attention to fluid pressure. Water should flow out of all bottom holes practically by gravity. Excessive pressure can subsequently affect the functionality and durability of the cartridge.
Step 5
Continue flushing for an hour or more. The cartridge sponges should release any accumulated ink residue. Check the flushing quality visually. You need to finish the procedure after clean water flows out of the cartridge for 5-10 minutes.
Step 6
Disconnect the flushing system from the water supply and dry the printer cartridge using pre-prepared compressed air, which is best blown directly into the opening of the cross adapter.
Step 7
Remove the washed ink sponges. To do this, take a knife and pry off the top cover. Pay attention to the condition of the sponges. If necessary, rinse these parts of the cartridge again, this time separately. Again, do not use contrasting temperatures. Let the sponges dry.
Step 8
Collect the cartridge. Place the sponges inside the special compartments, use molecular glue to secure the top cover.
