If you unintentionally remove the "Minimize all windows" icon from the desktop or Windows taskbar, you may encounter certain inconveniences in your daily work at the computer. However, you can put the icon back in place, and you can use other methods to minimize and restore windows.
Instructions
Step 1
To return the icon, you need to perform a few simple steps. First of all, enable showing extensions in file names. To do this, in any Windows Explorer window, click the Tools menu and select Folder Options (or Folder Options). On the "View" tab, find the item "Hide extensions for registered file types" in the list and uncheck the box.
Step 2
Now right click on the desktop and select New - Text Document. In a text document, enter the following:
[Shell]
Command = 2
IconFile = explorer.exe, 3
[Taskbar]
Command = ToggleDesktop
Step 3
Delete the file name and enter a new one with a.scf extension (for example, "Minimize all windows.scf"). Press the Enter key. The file will change its appearance.
Step 4
Drag the resulting file to the taskbar and click on it. The windows will be minimized. Clicking again will return the windows to their original position.
