Most often, Flash movies and various multimedia elements of website design are played by a special Internet browser add-on - a plug-in called Shockwave Flash Player. However, there is also an independent version of the flash player for working with files with the swf extension. It is not difficult to open any of these versions of the program.

Step 1
If you have not installed any additional software for working with flash files, it is most likely that the operating system delegates the playback of this type of data to the plug-in of the default browser. The flash player is installed as an add-on with the Internet browser during OS installation or downloaded from the Adobe server at the request of the browser. This program shows the corresponding dialog at the first playback of any flash-movie after installation. Therefore, to open the flash player, simply load into the browser any page that contains flash elements - for example, the main page of the kakprosto.ru website.
Step 2
To open a separate settings window for this plug-in, right-click the flash element of the web page and select the "Global settings" line in the context menu. In the same menu there is an item "About Adobe Flash Player" - if you want to update the version of the player or find out more about it, select this item and the browser will load the required page of the Adobe server.
Step 3
In addition to the version of the flash player, which works as a plug-in to the browser, Adobe also distributes a completely stand-alone application. It is installed, for example, along with the installation of some flash source editor. You can also download it for free from the corporation's server - there this version is called Flash Player Projector.
Step 4
After downloading and installing it into your operating system, the plugins installed in the browsers will continue to work as before, and when you double-click on the flash file stored in your computer, it will open in a separate window of the installed program. To launch this version of the flash player (it is often called standalone) without clicking on files, just select the corresponding link from the All Programs section in the OS main menu.
