To work with various types of files, special editor programs have been developed that allow you to make changes to the file required by the user. There are several ways to save the entered data.
Instructions
Step 1
There are various editors: for working with text, 3D models, images, sound. Developers of various software products try to arrange the interface of their editors according to a general principle, so that the user does not have to retrain to work with each new application and experience a feeling of discomfort.
Step 2
Start the program in which you are going to enter data. Edit the text, image, or other necessary changes. Select File from the top menu bar. In the drop-down menu, left-click on the "Save" command.
Step 3
In the dialog box that opens, specify the requested data. Give the file a name, select, if necessary, the format in which it should be saved, specify the directory (folder) in which the file will be located after saving. Click on the "Save" button.
Step 4
Use the "Save" command when you need to "write" a new file to your computer's hard drive (or removable media), and also when you have made changes to an existing file and are no longer going to revert to its previous version …
Step 5
The "Save As" command is suitable if you worked with an existing file, but you want to save the changes made to another file. You can also choose this command to save a new file. As an alternative to the commands from the File menu, you can use the corresponding thumbnail buttons located on the program toolbar, if any.
Step 6
Some editors have an automatic save function. If this function is activated, your file will be saved on its own at a specified time interval. This is a kind of insurance against data loss in case of unforeseen circumstances. Look for "Autosave" in your editor settings.
Step 7
When working with a certain category of files, saving is possible only by exporting data. Select "File" in the top menu bar, select "Export" from the available commands. Specify the file name, format and directory for saving. Click on the "Export" or OK button.
