Reinstalling the operating system is a rather unpleasant process. Not only do you have to adjust all the computer settings again, but there is also the possibility of losing some important data.
Necessary
Second PC, Windows installation disc
Instructions
Step 1
Keeping important files safe when reinstalling the operating system is not that difficult. If the current OS is operational, then this can be done without any additional devices. But in the case when you are not able to run the OS, you will need an additional computer.
Step 2
Let's start with the first option. If your system is installed on a separate local disk, then just copy all the necessary files from it and safely reinstall the OS. If your hard drive is not partitioned, then do this process yourself.
Step 3
Download the required version of Partition Manager, install it and run it. Select the "Quick Create Section" item. Specify your only hard drive and click Next. Set the file system type for the future partition and its size. Reboot your computer. Copy all important files to the new section. Reinstall your operating system.
Step 4
Now let's move on to a situation where you are unable to start the operating system. There are two ways to solve this problem. Unfortunately, both of them are not universal.
Step 5
Install the operating system without removing the previous one. Naturally, it is better to install an identical OS version. This method is not recommended as the main one, because, as practice shows, the operating system installed in this way is extremely unstable. In addition, you run the risk of losing data in system folders.
Step 6
Remove the hard drive from the system unit and connect it to another computer. Start the OS on the second PC. Follow the operations described in the third step. Connect the hard drive to its "native" system unit. Install Windows on a specially created partition.
