Quite often, dynamic IP addresses are used to speed up the process of configuring local networks. This allows computers to quickly obtain addresses of the desired range when connected to a server or network equipment.

Instructions
Step 1
To disable the use of a static IP address, you need to change the operating parameters of a specific network adapter. Open the control panel and go to the "Network and Internet" menu. Open the Network and Sharing Center menu. Find the item "Change adapter settings" in the left part of the menu that opens and open it.
Step 2
Right-click on the icon of the required network card (local area network). Highlight TCP / IPv4 Internet Protocol. Click the Properties button and wait for the new menu to open. Click on the "Obtain an IP address automatically" item. If you do not need to choose an Internet access server on your own, then activate the "Obtain DNS server address automatically" item in the same way. Click OK to save your settings.
Step 3
If you are using Windows XP, open the Start menu and hover over the Network Connections item. In the expanded menu, select the "Show all connections" item. Repeat the procedure described in the previous step. Select the Internet Protocol TCP / IP because in Windows XP there is no subdivision into v4 and v6.
Step 4
If you are using a router or switch to create a network, make sure that the network equipment has DHCP enabled. It is she who is responsible for the distribution of IP addresses between computers. Open the web interface of the router by entering its IP address into the browser.
Step 5
Go to the WAN menu, check the checkbox next to the function, or set the Enable parameter for it. Save the settings and reboot the device. Remember that using dynamic addresses is not always convenient. The selected computers will receive new addresses each time they reboot, which can make it difficult to access shared resources.
