In some cases, for a more detailed configuration of the connection of several devices using one router, it is necessary to independently change the route parameters. To do this, you need to change the configuration of the individual components of the routing table.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch your internet browser. This is necessary in order to gain access to the local resources of the provider, if there is such a need. Most routers are fairly easy to configure to connect to the Internet using multiple computers or laptops, so in order to expand their capabilities, you need to make some adjustments to the settings.
Step 2
Enter the IP address of your modem into the address bar of your browser. Hit Enter. You will see a window with a login form. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. Then click the Log in button. Go to the advanced device settings menu.
Step 3
Find Routing Table to view the table. Change the routing parameters for the line ports of your modem. If the server in your network is a stationary computer, download and install the WinRoute program from the Internet. Please note that the Windows operating system must be installed on your personal computer for this utility to work.
Step 4
Start the WinRoute program. In it, open the "Settings" menu item. Go to Routing Table to see the table. Adjust static and dynamic routes. You can add new ones. When adjusting a dynamic route, keep in mind that this route type must be updated after each login. If you have a binary file with the parameters of all routes, then right-click on it.
Step 5
In the context menu that appears, select the "Open with" item. Select the Notepad application as the program. Now you need to go to the table. Fill in all the route data and save the changes. If you do not have a ready-made binary file containing the necessary information about the connections, enter the data into the table yourself.
