Windows has a list of standard drivers for certain types of modems. This means that you do not have to make an effort to install the driver, the OS will do it automatically. However, there is a possibility that the standard driver will not be installed or will cause the device to malfunction. To avoid this, you need to carefully look at the contents of the package in which the modem was delivered. There may be a software disc. You need to insert it into the floppy drive and install the software, this will be easy if the disc is autorun. If you are not using autorun, go to the CD contents and find the Driver directory. Then run the program that is in it.
In the event that you are at a loss to install the driver from the disk, use the Windows Device Manager. Select the "Computer" icon on the desktop. Then press the combination alt="Image" + Enter or right-click, then select "Properties" from the context menu. The control panel window will expand, in it you will see information about the operating system and general technical parameters of the computer. Click on "Device Manager" in the upper left corner of the screen. Select a modem from the list of devices. Note that if the device is not identified, an exclamation mark is displayed next to it. Right-click the device name, select Update Driver Software. Then indicate that you would like to find the driver by searching your computer. Then you need to set the path to the drive, and the system will search from the disk.
The driver disk might be missing, damaged, or lost. Then you need to look at the name of the modem and its exact marking. Then download the driver from the manufacturer's official website.
If you bought a USB tethering, read the user manual. Usually, when using such equipment, the drivers are installed automatically after connecting the device to the USB connector.
