Modern users often use various modems to access the Internet. These can be devices that work with 3G and 4G networks, as well as all kinds of Wi-Fi modules. It is important to install the correct drivers or software to ensure that the specified hardware works.

Access to the Internet
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your desktop or mobile computer and wait for the operating system to start. Connect the modem to the USB port. If you are using an internal Wi-Fi module, connect it to a powered off stationary computer. For this, PCI ports are provided on the motherboard.
Step 2
Wait a while while the operating system detects the type of connected hardware. The original set of drivers may be installed automatically. Check if you can use the modem without installing additional applications.
Step 3
If the device is unstable or not all of its functions can be used, find the appropriate software. First, visit the site of the developers of this modem. Most of these resources have a special section with drivers and applications.
Step 4
Enter the name of the modem in the search bar. Select the required program based on the software version number and the type of operating system. Download the suggested files.
Step 5
Open the directory where the active browser stores the downloaded information. Run the installer file. Complete the software installation for your modem.
Step 6
If you want to update the ADSL modem software, you need to use a network cable. Connect the modem to your computer and laptop using a patch cord with LAN connectors.
Step 7
Open the site of the modem developers and find out the initial IP address of the device. Paste its value into the url-field of the browser and press Enter. Download the firmware file from the website. It must have a.bin extension.
Step 8
After entering the web interface of the modem, open the Firmware Update or Firmware update menu. Change the device firmware by specifying the path to the file downloaded from the site.
Step 9
Please note that in most cases all the necessary drivers are located in the internal memory of the USB modem. Do not install additional software unless necessary.
