Step 1
To connect the mixer to a computer, you will need the mixer itself, a computer with a sound card with at least two sound output channels, a speaker system for sound output, and connecting cables. If you do not have a sound card installed on your personal computer, contact a specialized center to select the appropriate components for you. As a rule, almost all sound cards have special inputs that allow you to connect the mixer to your computer. If you have a laptop, chances are the sound card is already built in.
Step 2
The type of connecting cables depends on the capabilities of the sound card and the requirements of the mixer. Most often you need the following cables: single-channel 3, 5 Stereo-2RCA in the amount of at least three pieces and a 2RCA-2RCA cable for a music center. Carefully read the instructions for the mixer so as not to be mistaken in recognizing all the connectors on the panel.
Step 3
Connect one cable 3, 5 Stereo-2RCA to the sound card, two of the same cables to the LINE input of CH1 and CH2 channels. Connect the music center with a 2RCA-2RCA cable to the master output (for recording). Review all cables carefully. They must be properly connected to the computer and mixer so that there are no shorts or anything else.
Step 4
Set up the sound from the mixer to your computer by installing the sound processing software BPM Studio, Native Instruments Traktor DJ Studio, or PC DJ Red. Experiment with your audio device settings to hear the effect of the mixer. The exact connection algorithm depends on the specifications of the mixer itself and the capabilities of the sound card. It is optimal to use a sound card with support for 5.1 or two conventional sound cards.
