If you accidentally delete files from your hard disk or other drives, you should immediately start recovering them. To do this, you can use both expensive utilities and their free counterparts.
Necessary
Recuva
Instructions
Step 1
First, try to recover lost files using freely available programs. Follow the link below and download the free version of Recuva.
Step 2
Install this utility. Remember that experts do not recommend installing programs on the partition of the hard drive from which data recovery will be performed. Now start the Recuva program.
Step 3
If you want to recover files from an external storage device, please connect this device to a suitable interface on your computer beforehand. In the appeared Quick Setup Wizard menu, select the desired file type. If you are not sure of your choice, highlight the "Other" item and click the "Next" button.
Step 4
Specify the area where the files to be restored were located. These can be specific folders, local drives, or external drives. Click "Next".
Step 5
In the next dialog menu, activate the "Enable advanced analysis" item. Click the "Start" button and wait while the program scans the specified area. It is important to understand that the more accurately you set the analysis parameters, the faster this process will complete.
Step 6
Wait for the completion of the creation of the list of found files. Select the checkboxes to restore them. Use the View menu to check the quality of the file. After selecting the required files, click the "Recover" button.
Step 7
Specify the folder on the hard disk or external device where the processed information will be saved. Wait while Recuva performs the required operations. Open the selected folder and check the files.
Step 8
If you were unable to recover information using free utilities, try using demo versions of other programs.
