As you know, a fan, or cooler, is a very important part of your computer. It regulates the temperature of the processor and prevents it from overheating. Everyone knows the sound of a fan working in a computer. But if at one point you notice that this sound has changed, for example, your computer began to hum like an airplane during takeoff, then this means that the fan clearly needs help, that is, cleaning and lubrication.
Instructions
Step 1
Unscrew the bolts with a screwdriver, disconnect the connector, remove the fan from the case.
Step 2
Use a brush or cotton swab to gently clean the fan blades and housing. Remove all accumulated dust and dirt.
Step 3
There should be a round sticker on the fan housing. Peel off this sticker. Underneath you will find a rubber stopper. Pull it out very carefully without damaging it.
Step 4
Under this rubber band you will find the fan bushing and axle, which you must lubricate. To do this, take a spindle or machine oil. You can also use a CV joint. Apply some oil to the fan shaft for lubrication.
Step 5
The oil should cover it, but do not drip too much, because otherwise, when the rubber plug is applied in place, the oil may leak out of the recess and stain the body, then the sticker will not be able to stick back. You can use a medical syringe to apply the oil more accurately and to keep it from spilling. In this case, the lubricating oil must be very thin so that it can flow freely through the syringe.
Step 6
You can also lubricate the inner parts of the fan, but for this you have to completely disassemble it. We strongly advise you not to do this on your own, unless you are an expert - a non-professional will not be able to cope with such a delicate work, and you risk ruining the cooler.
Step 7
Now carefully put the rubber plug back in place, making sure that the oil does not spill and stain the case. Carefully and gently wipe the case from dirt. Then replace the round sticker.
Step 8
It happens that the sticker after peeling off has lost its shape or simply does not stick in place. It's not scary, replace it with a piece of regular stationery tape, just cut it out to shape and size.
Step 9
Reinstall the fan in reverse order and connect the connector.
Now the cooler's performance will increase significantly, it will work as it was just purchased. But remember that after some time from heat exposure, the grease will evaporate, so do this procedure regularly. Good luck and good work for your cooler!
