Instructions

Step 1

First you need to open the case of the system unit. To do this, unscrew (if any) the fastening screws or unfasten the fasteners. Then the cover is removed. The power supply can only be reached from one side, on the other the motherboard will interfere.

Step 2

Next, the power supply is removed. As a rule, it is fastened with four screws, which are unscrewed from the back of the system unit, and is also supported on two bent plates of the case.

Step 3

To remove the power supply from the case, you must disconnect the wires leaving it. You need to remove the connector from the motherboard, disconnect the hard drives, drive. All this can be omitted if it is convenient for you to change the fan lubricant while sitting near the system unit.

Step 4

Next, you need to remove the cover from the power supply. It is secured with four screws. Carefully remove the cover so as not to damage the wires.

Step 5

We turn off the fan. It is also secured with four screws on the power supply cover. Disconnect the fan supply wire (either inside the unit itself or on the motherboard).

Step 6

We remove the round sticker from the fan, but do not throw it away, as it will need to be glued back.

Step 7

Carefully remove the plastic retaining ring with tweezers or other thin sharp object.

Step 8

Carefully, without distortions, we remove the fan armature of the power supply.

Step 9

We remove the old grease with a cotton swab and apply a new one to the axle. The grease should not be too thin so as not to leak out, but not too thick so as not to impede the rotation of the fan. There should not be a lot of grease and it should only be applied to the axle.

Step 10

We put back the fan armature, put on the retaining ring. Make sure the anchor is securely locked.

Step 11

We seal the sticker back tightly. It is necessary so that the grease does not leak and dry out.

Step 12

We fasten the fan back, connect it, close the power supply with a cover and fasten it.

Step 13

We put the power supply in place, fasten it to the case of the system unit and connect it.

Everything is ready, you are done, you can turn on the computer.
