Step 1
Adobe Photoshop provides several ways to render an image in black and white. Before you start, make a copy of the "Background" layer no matter which method you choose. Select the item "image - correction - black and white" in the top menu. A window will appear in front of you, allowing you to adjust the brightness of different tones. This is the most convenient and high-quality way to get a black and white image, since you yourself can edit the brightness of the colors and make them the way you want. For example, you can make your face appear light or tanned. The sky can become dark and gloomy, or life can be light.

The second way is to use channel mixing. Mixing - mixing. You can increase or decrease the influence of one or another channel on the overall picture. "Image - correction - channel mixing" is the way we need it. At the very bottom of the window that appears, check the "monochrome" checkbox. The image will turn black and white and by moving the sliders of the different channels you can get the desired result.
Step 3
The third and easiest way is to discolor. Select the menu item "Image - Correction - Desaturate" or just press the key combination Shift + Ctrl + U. The layer will lose all color information, making the image black and white. The disadvantage of this method is that you cannot influence the appearance of the photo in any way and it is impossible to edit the brightness of the tones.
