Necessary

  • - a file with the original photo;
  • - Adobe Photoshop.

Instructions

Step 1

Upload the photo you want to make a colored element in Adobe Photoshop. Select "Open …" in the File section of the main menu, or press Ctrl + O. In the dialog that appears, specify the required file. Click the "Open" button.

Step 2

Change the raster color format. Expand the Mode section of the Image menu. Select RGB Color if the image is currently monochrome, indexed, grayscale, etc. This will add full color elements to it.

Step 3

Change the type of the current layer from background to main. Select the "Layer From Background …" item in the context menu of the layers panel or in the New section of the Layer section of the main menu. In the New Layer dialog that appears, enter, if necessary, a name for the new layer and click OK.

Step 4

If the image of the colored element is in an external file, proceed to add it. Load the file into Adobe Photoshop as described in the first step. Select the desired fragment. Use the appropriate tools or press Ctrl + A if the entire image should be selected. Use the Copy item of the Edit menu or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C to copy the fragment to the clipboard.

Step 5

Add a colored element to the photo. Switch to the document window that was opened first. Press Ctrl + V. The previously copied image will be pasted on a new layer. With the Move Tool, move the colored element to the desired location. Press Ctrl + E or choose Merge Down from the Layer menu to merge the layers.

Step 6

Make a color element from the black and white section of the photo itself. Select the desired area of the image. Use the available tools (various types of Lasso Tool, Magic Wand, Quick Selection Tool, quick mask, etc.). Open the Hue / Saturation dialog by pressing Ctrl + U or by selecting the item with the same name in the Adjustments section of the Image menu. Activate the Colorize and Preview options. Move the sliders to get the desired color. Click OK.

Step 7

Save the modified image. Press Ctrl + Shift + S. In the Save As dialog specify the required parameters and click the "Save" button.
