Rounding off the corners of an image is often used when creating a simple design of photos. Photoshop provides several ways to accomplish this.
Necessary
- - Photoshop program;
- - image.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the Open option of the File menu to load the picture, the corners of which you want to round, into the graphics editor. If the file you are working with was saved in.
Step 2
To create the effect of rounded corners, you will need to delete part of the image. If you prefer not to make permanent changes to the picture, make the corners transparent by hiding them with a mask. You can add a mask to the layer by applying the Reveal All option in the Layer Mask group of the Layer menu.
Step 3
Select the image to be processed by clicking on its icon and holding down the Ctrl key. Using the Smooth option of the Modify group of the Select menu, open the rounding docker and specify the amount of change by entering it in the Sample Radius field.
Step 4
Click on the layer mask thumbnail, turn on Paint Bucket and fill the selected area of the mask with black with this tool. Pressing the Ctrl + I combination, swap the positions of the transparent and opaque areas of the mask. The document window now contains the image with rounded corners.
Step 5
The Smooth option may not be available for selections that are the same size as the document canvas. If you face such a problem, turn on the Rounded Rectangle Tool in Fill pixels mode and draw a black rounded rectangle on the mask. The dimensions of the shape will correspond to the dimensions of the part of the picture that will remain visible after inverting the mask using the Ctrl + I keys.
Step 6
Save the rounded image using the Save As option on the File menu. If you are going to apply additional editing to the picture, choose the psd format. Saving to a png file will allow you to get a drawing with a transparent area in place of the hidden fragments. By choosing the.jpg"
