To give your photo a finished look, try rounding the edges. There are several methods in Adobe Photoshop's arsenal to achieve this effect.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the image and double click on the layer to unlock it. Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool from the toolbar. On the property bar, in the Feather box, enter the desired rounding radius. Select a fragment of the picture and press Ctrl + J to copy it to a new layer
Step 2
If you want the image to have a transparent background, grab the bottom layer with the mouse and move it to the trash can icon at the bottom of the layers panel. If you want to place the picture on a colored base, set the desired shade with the foreground color, select the Paint Bucket Tool from the toolbar and fill the bottom layer.
Step 3
You can apply a slightly different method. Press the Latin M on the keyboard to activate the "Rectangular Selection", and circle the picture. From the Select menu, choose Modify and Smooth. In the new dialog box set the radius of the rounding and confirm with OK
Step 4
Invert the selection with Shift + Ctrl + I. Use the Delete key to delete the excess part of the image and deselect it by pressing Ctrl + D. You can leave the background transparent or add a new layer, move it under the main image and fill it with a suitable color.
Step 5
On the toolbar, select the Rounded Rectangle Tool from the U group. On the property bar, enter the desired radius value and draw a rectangle on the image. This new drawing can be moved with the Move Tool and resized and resized using Ctrl + T.
Step 6
Press Ctrl + Enter to turn the rectangle into a selection and invert with Ctrl + Shift + I. With the mouse, grab the mask layer and move it to the trash can. Use Delete or Backspace to delete unwanted part of the picture.
