In the early days of the film industry, filmmakers didn’t need any extra gadgets to make videos faster - they did it on their own. Nowadays, you have to create such an effect yourself, and one of the tools for achieving it is the Sony Vegas video editor.

Instructions
Step 1
Launch Sony Vegas and open the required video in it: click the File> Open menu item (or press the Ctrl + O key combination), in the window that appears, select the desired file and click "Open".
Step 2
The video will appear in the workspace of the program in the form of two tracks (or tracks): one audio, the other video. The starting position of these tracks will depend on where the temporary marker is in the Stage. To move it, move the cursor over the vertical line that is the bottom of the marker, wait for the cursor to look like a double-headed arrow, and then drag in the direction you want.
Step 3
Hold Ctrl and move the cursor to the right or left edge of one of the two tracks. It doesn't matter which one, as by default they are part of a single whole (i.e. video) until you want to separate them. The cursor will look like this: a double-sided arrow, one side of which will be in a small square (depending on which side you brought the cursor to the tracks), and under the arrow there will be a wavy line. Now hold down the right mouse button and drag it towards the track. Both tracks will become narrower, and a zig-zag line will appear on the video track, which indicates that the video progress has become faster. Accordingly, the narrower the tracks, the faster the video will be. However, there is a limit, in Sony Vegas you can only increase the speed by a maximum of four times at a time, keep that in mind.
Step 4
Move the time marker to the beginning of the video by clicking the right mouse button and press the Play button (hot key - "Space"). The Video Preview window (if not, press Alt + 4) will display the result. If you are not satisfied with it, continue experimenting, if yes - proceed to saving the video.
Step 5
To do this, click the File> Render as menu item, in the "File type" field, select the format of the future video file, give it a name, a path for saving, if you wish, set additional settings by clicking on Custom, and click "Save".
