Recording tracks in a home or professional recording studio is one of the most important and necessary steps in the work of a musical project, be it a solo performer, ensemble (group) or a single composer. In any case, the recording is divided into several stages, the sequence of which professionals do not recommend breaking.
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to record the percussion part. Place the microphones near each drum and connect them to the amplifier. Attach another microphone to the speaker that is connected to the computer. Press the record button in the sound editor with the metronome on (the tempo must be set). You or the musician will begin playing the part on the kit.
Step 2
The next step is to record the bass. As a rule, this part is assigned to the bass guitar and consists of moves that are simple in rhythm and melody, the durations in it are not too short. It is better not to play duplicate elements twice, but to copy and paste in the appropriate places.
Step 3
Rhythm guitar can follow (if present in the score). Like other instruments, she plays with a metronome.
Step 4
Then the instruments are recorded one at a time, playing the backing parts. There should be a few of them so as not to overlap the rest of the layers of the music. They can play in turns to vary the tone of the musical fabric.
Step 5
Last but not least, solo instruments are recorded: voice, lead guitar, and so on. They should stand out boldly against the background of echoes, bass and chords.
Step 6
After recording, the mixing stage begins. Noises are removed, false notes are cleared, the volume is adjusted, effects are added.
