Guitar Hero 3 is a multifunctional guitar simulator. In addition to the standard songs offered in the application by default, you can also add your own melodies. To do this, you need to use a special melody decoder.
Instructions
Step 1
To install your own tunes, you need a specialized editor utility GH3 PC Editor. Download this program from the Internet and unpack it to any directory on your computer. Also download Lame audio decoder in Lame.exe format and MP3Info utility.
Step 2
Copy the resulting Lame.exe and MP3Info to the unpacked GH3 PC Editor directory. Then run the program using the songlist_editor.exe file.
Step 3
In the window that appears, select File - Open. The program will automatically open the directory where your Guitar Hero is located. If it didn't, specify the path to the program. It is usually located in the C: - Program Files - Aspyr - Guitar Hero III directory on your computer. Click Ok and wait for the list of available songs to update.
Step 4
Click on the Insert Song button in the lower left corner of the program window, then specify the name of the future song. In the Guitar Track field, insert your melody, indicating the path to its file in mp3 format. Do the same for song and rhythm. Also specify the path to the midi file of the song in the program window.
Step 5
Enter the artist name in the Artist field. Enter the real name of the song in the Songname field. After all the settings are completed, click Ok and wait until the end of the saving procedure. After its completion, you will see the added melody in the general list of songs.
Step 6
Go to the Edit Setlist - Bonus Songs tab. In the Songs Per Tier row, press the up arrow once to increase the number of songs used in the program. At the end of the list that appears, select the name of your added song.
Step 7
Go to the Song section, select the added melody again and click Ok. To save the result, select File - Save.
Step 8
Open the game and go to the Options - Cheats menu. Double click on the green button in the game window, and then go to the QuickPlay - Bonus Songs section. At the end of this list, you will see the song you just added, which will be available for study.
