Instructions

Step 1

Open Notepad or WordPad, and then create a folder on your computer where you will save all the data about your page. Save a blank text document from an open Notepad under the name index.html in the root directory of the future site, that is, in the folder that you created.

Step 2

In an open document, write the following: text. These two tags limit the space of the web page - all other tags and all site markup will be located inside the html tags.

Step 3

Inside the tags, write any text - for example, the title of the page. In the future, the text can be replaced. Save the file and then open it with an internet browser (such as IE or Opera). You will see a blank page with the text you entered between the tags. Now reopen the created file with notepad and continue editing.

Step 4

Place the title of the page immediately after the main tag, enclosing it in tags. Also, the page name is placed in tags.

Step 5

Do not forget to include a tag in the markup of the page - all the text of your page or its "body" will be located inside this tag. Accordingly, enter the following sequence of tags into notepad:

Site title

Site text

Step 6

Once you have learned how to create a base page using basic tags, you can edit its content with formatting tags, insert images and pictures, change the background color of the page, and much more.
