Microsoft Office Word is designed to work with text. This editor contains various tools with which you can create both standard and non-standard documents. A novice user may have a question about how to create a new page in Word.

Instructions

Step 1

Typically, when you start Word, a new page is automatically created and you can start typing right away. If the editor is open, but the page is not there, click on the Office button in the upper left corner of the window and select "New" from the drop-down menu, a new window will open. Click in it with the left mouse button on the "New Document" thumbnail and click on the "Create" button in the lower right part of the window.

Step 2

If the document contains more than one page of text, new pages are automatically created as soon as the previous page ends. But a blank page may be required in the middle of the document as well. In this case, you can use several methods.

Step 3

Place the cursor at the end of the page after which you want to place a blank sheet, and press the Enter key several times. Each time it is pressed, the cursor will advance one line down until it moves to a new page, from which you can continue to enter text. This method is applicable, but not very convenient. After all, if you decide to edit the text above the blank page, the text on the page following the blank page will shift.

Step 4

To prevent this from happening, use the Blank Page tool. Place the mouse cursor immediately behind the printed character, after which a blank sheet should be located. Go to the "Insert" tab and click on the "Blank Page" thumbnail button in the "Pages" section. The text after the cursor will move down. Further, each click on the "Blank page" button will move the text after the cursor one page down.

Step 5

The Page Break tool, also found in the Pages section of the Insert tab, works in much the same way. With this and the previous tool, the text below the blank page does not shift when typing on the pages until the break (or blank sheet is inserted). If you need to return the text to its original position, place the mouse cursor in front of the "torn off" paragraph and press the Backspace key twice.
