CCleaner is a popular utility for cleaning the operating system and removing programs, as well as managing startup options and applications installed on the system. CCleaner has many features that are implemented in a fully functional graphical interface.
Cleaning
The cleaning section allows you to remove unnecessary data from the system that accumulates as a result of using programs. This option in the main window of the application is divided into two sections, as well as blocks in which, using the checkboxes, the content for clearing the data is selected. The Windows tab contains the main system parameters and data for deletion that appeared during the use of the computer. The Applications section lists the programs installed on the system and options that can also be selected for cleaning. Each item is provided with a text commentary, and therefore there should be no difficulty in choosing the cleaning parameters. Use this section every two weeks if you want to maintain the maximum performance of the programs installed on the system.
Click on the "Analysis" button to calculate the amount of information to be deleted. After the end of the operation, click "Clear" to delete the selected data. You can also click on the "Cleanup" button without first selecting the "Analysis" option.
Registry
Use this tab of the program to fix errors that occur while working with the system. Click on the "Troubleshoot" button to enable the program to identify possible system registry problems. After finishing counting the number of errors among the records, click "Fix". Save a backup copy of the changes, which will help you restore the state of the system in the event that a crash occurs while the program is running. After that, click on the "Fix all" button to fix the problems found by the program.
In the "Settings" section, you can change the system update settings and set exceptions for working with the program, ie. specify those files and applications whose data you do not want to touch upon cleaning.
Ccleaner service
The service tab displays options for working with programs installed in the system. The "Uninstall Programs" section lists the utilities that are installed on your system. Select the application you want to uninstall and click Uninstall. You can also rename the program or simply remove it from the list of utilities. When you click the "Remove" button, the application will be removed from the installed list, but will not be removed from the system.
The "Startup" section contains programs that are launched during the system boot process after turning on the computer. If you do not want any particular program to be loaded along with the system, right-click on the item with its name and click "Disable".
The section "Search for files" allows you to find the document specified in the search string in the system. This option can be used if you cannot find any file in the system and do not remember its specific name.
The "System Restore" section is responsible for choosing points to return to the previous state of the computer when all kinds of failures appear in the process of work after installing the program or downloading a malicious file. Erase Disks will erase all files from your hard drive or a storage medium connected to your computer. Select the media you want to erase using the checkboxes and then click Erase to apply the changes.
