A huge amount of information on the network is distributed in the form of CD images. These include exact copies of physical CDs. All their difference lies only in the fact that the drive that is used to read them is not physical, but virtual and is not located in the computer case, but is installed by a separate utility on the user's computer.

utility "Alcohol 120%"

Instructions

Step 1

Alcohol 120% and Daemon Tools are some of the most common utilities that create a virtual drive in the system. You can work with both programs by analogy.

Install and run the "Alcohol 120%" utility. This can be done either by double-clicking on the program icon on the desktop, or by finding it in the list of programs using the Start menu.

Step 2

Search for the required image file. To do this, in the horizontal menu bar, first click on the "Service" item, and then, in the drop-down list, select the "Search for image files" item. In the search window, you must specify the path to the place where the image is located. Then click on the "Search" button. All found images will be displayed in the window. Find the one you need in this list and click on it with the left mouse button. After that select the item "Add selected files to Alcohol 120%".

The same search can be performed using the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + F".

Step 3

Close the image search window.

Step 4

Mount the image to a virtual disk.

After completing the second step, the main window of the utility has slightly changed - the required image file has appeared in the list on the right side of the program. Click on the name of this image with the left mouse button and select the "Mount to device" item in the context menu.

The image is now mounted to the virtual drive. You can work with it like a regular CD.
