The main purpose of the "Recycle Bin" is to temporarily save deleted files to be able to recover accidentally moved important user data. The recycle bin of each hard drive has a fixed size and is located in the hidden service folder /$Recycle. Bin.
Instructions
Step 1
On computers running OS Windows, hidden folders /$Recycle. Bin, which are not displayed in the Windows Explorer application, are merged into a common single Recycle Bin by default. In practice, this means that having administrator access to the "Recycle Bin" item implies the ability to change the settings of all deleted files in each recycle bin of existing volumes. It should be borne in mind that files moved to the recycle bin of each specific disk remain on the disk itself.
Step 2
Call the context menu of the "Trash" item by right-clicking and select the "Properties" item. Identify the drives on which the selected item is created in the Recycle Bin Location group and use the option to change the default size on each of them.
Step 3
If necessary, disable the Trash for any of the drives you are using. To do this, select the required volume in the directory and move the slider to the position "Destroy files immediately after deletion, without placing them in the trash". Confirm your choice by clicking the "Apply" button and confirm the changes made by clicking the OK button.
Step 4
Empty the contents of the Trash by calling the context menu of the selected item by right-clicking and selecting the item "Empty Trash". Remember that by default in Windows OC you need to confirm the cleanup command four times - the command itself, authorization of deletion, repeated command, repeated confirmation.
Step 5
Use an alternative method to delete files stored in the Trash - open the desktop element by double-clicking and use the "Empty Trash" option in the service panel of the "Windows Explorer" application. Please note that this action will clear all data. To clear one or several components of the recycle bin, you need to select the selected component and specify the "Delete" command in the service menu invoked by the right mouse click.
