Windows OS developers traditionally try to limit users' ability to interfere with the system. Starting with the version of Windows Vista, UAC (User Account Control) has been added to the security system - a function that requires confirmation of administrator rights to actions that could theoretically harm the computer. The intrusive service of this component forces users to look for ways to disable UAC.

Instructions

Step 1

To disable UAC on a Windows Vista computer, go to Control Panel, click the User Accounts icon, and uncheck the box next to "Use User Account Control (UAC) …" Since your computer is no longer protected by Windows, you need to install an antivirus program.

Step 2

In versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8, it is possible to lower the level of UAC control without disabling this feature completely. At the same time, the computer is protected from critical actions, and users do not have to confirm their rights to perform each operation. To change the control level or completely disable UAC, you must log in with administrator rights.

Step 3

If your computer is running Windows 7, press the Win key and type UAC in the search bar. Click on the "Change User Account Control Settings" link and move the slider to the appropriate level of protection. In the extreme lower position, UAC will be disabled, in the extreme upper position, the maximum protection will be set. Click OK to confirm your selection and restart your computer.

Step 4

You can do it differently. In Control Panel, in View mode, select Small Icons from the Category list. In the "User accounts" section, follow the link "Change control settings" and proceed as described above.

Step 5

In Windows 8, press Win + Q keys and type UAC into the search bar. Click on "Settings" and click on the link "Change User Account Control Settings". Set the required level of protection by moving the slider.

Step 6

For all versions of Windows, there is another way to completely disable UAC. Run the search bar (Win + R for Windows Vista, Win + R for Windows 7, Win + Q for Windows 8) and enter the msconfig command. Go to the "Service" tab, find in the list of commands "Disable User Account Control" and click the "Start" button. After restarting the computer, UAC will be disabled.
