To connect mobile devices (usually older models) to the serial communication port, use a special cable that matches the connector to your phone. Its other end must be fixed in the motherboard connector with special screws, since otherwise the stability of the operation is not guaranteed.

Also, the use of this port to connect devices printers, scanners and other equipment implies the presence of running software and installed drivers on the motherboard. Connecting to this port is typical for outdated equipment due to the convenience of using the USB interface, therefore, in the latest models of motherboard devices, such a port may simply be absent. This port is also called COM abbreviation.
