Step 1
If you knew that Linux systems do not work with exe-files, then you have not heard about the existence of the Wine shell, which allows you to run almost all applications created for Windows operating systems. It should be noted that the use of this shell significantly increases the load on the computer, i.e. use is recommended for users of powerful machines.
Step 2
Most of the programs developed by modern specialists are created for Windows platforms. Therefore, this weather widget was imported into Linux environment. If you don't already have a Wine wrapper, you can install it using the Synaptic Package Manager tool.
Step 3
Click the top menu "System", select "Administration" and then the component "Synaptic Package Manager". In the quick search box, type wine and press Enter. In the search results, check the wrapper box and click the Apply button. After that, the installation process will begin, which does not require user intervention.
Step 4
The informer itself must be downloaded from the following link https://s3blog.org/download/others/soft/weather/Weather.exe. When saving the file, do not forget its directory. Open the folder with the file, right-click on it and select "Open in Wine".
Step 5
After installing the informer, it can be found under the tray with the system clock. Now it remains to add it to the Startup menu. To do this, click the "System" menu, select the "Options" and "Launching applications" items.
Step 6
In the window that opens, go to the "Startup programs" tab and click the "Add" button on the right side of the list of startup applications. In the Name and Command fields, enter Weather. Then click the Add and Close buttons.
Step 7
Restart your computer, if the weather widget has not loaded, run the "Launching Applications" applet again. Find the recently added item and click the Browse button next to the Command field. Specify the path to the executable file and enter the line usr / bin / wine before it. Thus, the path to this file will look like this: usr / bin / wine /home/user/dir/Weather.exe.
