When installing a driver or program, sometimes unwanted changes in the Windows configuration occur. As a result, the system may malfunction, and removing the software that led to this often does not solve the problem. In such cases, Windows Restore is the best way out of this situation. It can also help when your computer is infected with various viruses and malware.
Necessary
Boot disk with Windows 7
Instructions
Step 1
To restore Windows 7 using the internal tools of the OS, right-click on the icon or shortcut "My Computer" and go to "Properties". Then select "System Protection" and then click "Recovery".
Step 2
Next, designate the restore point with the desired date. Check "Show other restore points" if necessary.
Step 3
Specify the system drives that you want to recover. Confirm the restore, check the description and click "Finish". In the next dialog box, answer yes to the warning. If the procedure is completed successfully, after an automatic reboot, a message about successful system recovery will appear.
Step 4
Also, recovery is possible using safe mode. To do this, when starting the system, use the F8 key and select any of the safe modes. After the system boots, click on the "My Computer-Properties-Control Panel-Restore-Start System Restore" sequence. Specify "Advanced Methods" if necessary. Then repeat the steps described in the previous step.
Step 5
The third method is recovery using the Windows 7 boot disk. Go to BIOS and find Boot Device Priority in the Boot category, where specify CD / DVD in the 1st Boot Device field. Insert the disc and after loading, select the time format, language, keyboard layout. Click System Restore.
Step 6
Indicate one of the five options presented. If you previously made a system image, then click on "System Image Restore", otherwise - "Startup Restore".
Step 7
If the system has not recovered, then run the CHKDSK program. To do this, select the command line item and enter the chkdsk command. Then write the required volume after a space (for example C:) and then specify the required operation after a space: / f - corrects errors on the selected logical disk, / r - detects bad sectors and restores those that were read.
