The easiest way to increase the download speed in the Opera browser is to use specialized download manager programs. It is also possible to change the settings of the browser itself and the computer as a whole to optimize the downloads performed.
Instructions
Step 1
Use the Opera Turbo technology, available starting from the tenth version of the browser. This function is based on a data compression method, in which the information of the downloaded resource comes to the user's computer from the company's servers. At the same time, the data is compressed up to 80 percent.
Step 2
Be aware of the limitations of this acceleration method - certain elements cannot be compressed and their use may limit the functionality of Opera Turbo. These elements include:
- java scripts;
- Flash technologies;
-animation GIF;
- AJAX;
- SVG graphics.
Compression of encryption protocols is also not used. This means that a side effect of using this technology will be a significant reduction in image quality.
Step 3
Launch the Opera application and click on the browser icon in the upper left corner. Select the "Settings" item and expand the "General Settings" node. Use the "Web Pages" tab and select the "Automatic" option from the drop-down menu in the "Turbo Mode" row. This action will automatically disable the selected mode at a high connection speed.
Step 4
Open the "Tools" menu of the upper service panel of the browser window and select the "Settings" item. Click the General tab in the dialog that opens and make sure that no value is entered in the Home page field. This is one of the recommended ways to speed up downloads in the Opera browser.
Step 5
Specify the "Advanced" item in the same "Tools" menu and select the Cookies section. Click the Add button in the Server Manager dialog box that opens and click the Content tab in the next Settings dialog box. Uncheck all boxes and confirm your selection by clicking OK.
Step 6
Use the option to save temporary Internet files to speed up the loading of the desired web resource.
