Step 1
Open the side panel to install the gadget, to do this, click the "Start" button, select the "Programs" command, then the "Accessories" item and in this menu "Windows Sidebar". To keep it visible at all times, configure it so that it is not obscured by other windows. Its width is fixed.

Open Control Panel, select Appearance and Personalization, then click Windows Sidebar Properties. Select Sidebar Above Other Windows. Click OK.

Get started with sidebar widgets. Windows has a small set of applications, some of which appear by default in the sidebar. Click the plus button in the sidebar next to Widgets to install the widget to the sidebar. Then click on the scroll buttons to view all applications. Download additional sidebar apps from the Internet by going to the Microsoft Gadgets Web site, Gadgets Gallery. Also follow the link https://vista.gallery.microsoft.com/vista/SideBar.aspx?mkt=ru-ru, there select to install the widget on the sidebar by clicking on the button "View all gadgets"
Step 5
On the left, select a category in which to select the desired gadget. Click the Download button to put the gadget on the Windows sidebar, then click the Install button.
Step 6
Wait for the gadget to download and install it on your computer. Organize your installed apps by pinning all apps to the sidebar. To change the order in which apps are shown, simply drag and drop the app to a different location. You can move some applications to the Windows desktop.
