Many modern printers are equipped with a toner counter, which helps to correctly calculate the volume of the device. If the printer's sensor signals a lack of toner, the cartridge needs to be recharged and the toner replaced. You can do this yourself.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - flat screwdriver;
- - a set of watch screwdrivers;
- - funnel;
- - round-nose pliers.
Instructions
Step 1
Place the cartridge on a flat surface. Find the gear hidden behind the shutter in the cartridge housing. Now you need to remove the spring, which is installed on the gear, as carefully as possible
Step 2
Remove the two screws located on the sides of the cartridge. This is necessary in order to remove the cover that secures the drum unit. Then bend back the top of the case to reach the main metal hub. Hold the gear and pull out the drum unit with the bushing assembly. Pay attention to the fact that the drum unit is a fragile photosensitive element that must be taken care of. In particular, do not leave it in direct sunlight, keep it in an open place for a long time. It is best to cover it with something, such as a newspaper or a clean, lint-free cloth.
Step 3
Remove the rubber roller from the cartridge. Be careful not to turn the cartridge over, as the waste toner is now unrestrained and will spill out instantly
Step 4
Disassemble the cartridge body into two parts by pulling out the fasteners - the pins that connect it into a single whole. Use a small screwdriver and round nose pliers to push the pins out from the inside of the cartridge. Control the exit of the fasteners so that they do not jump out immediately, otherwise the part will fall apart in two halves. To do this, grasp the diverging parts of the housing with your hand, then carefully remove the entire pins. Now separate the halves of the cartridge.
Step 5
Empty the waste toner. Prepare a new batch. Shake the can for a while to keep the toner free from lumps. Take one of the cartridge halves where the toner hopper is located. Unscrew the fastening of the special hopper cover and remove it.
Step 6
Find and remove the white plug under the cover. Damage to the plug will negate all the results of the work already done, so be careful. Pour fresh toner into the empty hole. Then reassemble the cartridge in reverse order.
