To run console games on a computer, special emulator programs are used that simulate the operation of the console. To emulate Sega, there are many stable versions of such utilities that allow you to run almost any game developed for a gaming platform.
Instructions
Step 1
Sega game files are usually in bin, smd, or gen format, which can only be opened in emulation applications. Most of these programs have similar settings and interface, but not all of them will be able to run every game. Among the great variety of emulators, Kega Fusion, Gens and Regen can be noted. Visit the developer sites, choose the most convenient and suitable application for you.
Step 2
Download the selected program, run the installer. Many emulators are supplied as an archive, and therefore sometimes you just need to unpack the files using an archiver (for example, WinRAR) into a folder convenient for you.
Step 3
Download the Sega game file over the Internet. To find the game you are looking for, visit related sites or forums dedicated to the game console.
Step 4
Run the program using a shortcut on the desktop or through the Start menu. If the utility was packed into an archive, then to start it is enough to run the executable exe file that has its name.
Step 5
Go to the File tab - Load file or Open (the name of the menu depends on the program). Specify the path to the game file and wait for it to start.
Step 6
To customize the controls go to the Options menu. In the Controllers tab, select the keyboard to be used (keyboard item). Follow the instructions on the screen or select the appropriate menu items to set the keys to use that will be most convenient for playing.
Step 7
In the Sound and Video tabs, adjust the sound and on-screen display settings to suit your needs. In Sound, you can adjust the volume and select the sound card to use. Video configures the resolution and the ability to run in full screen.
