Instructions
Step 1
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button to perform the operation of disconnecting USB ports and go to the "Run" item.
Step 2
Enter the value regedit in the Open field and confirm the execution of the command to launch the Registry Editor tool by clicking OK.
Step 3
Double-click the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section and repeat the same action with the System section.
Step 4
Open the CurrentControlSet subsection by double clicking and go to the Services section.
Step 5
Expand the USBSTOR node by double-clicking and invoke the context menu of the Start parameter by right-clicking.

Select Modify and enter 4 in the Value field in the Modify DWORD Value dialog box that appears.

Confirm the execution of the command by clicking the Ok button and restart the computer to apply the selected changes.

Return to the main menu of the Microsoft Windows operating system by clicking the "Start" button to perform an alternative operation of disconnecting USB ports and again go to the "Run" item.

Enter the value gpedit.msc in the "Open" field and confirm the execution of the command to launch the "Group Policy Editor" tool by clicking OK.

Import a specialized file available for download on the official Microsoft website in the Use Group Policy to disable USB, CD-ROM, Floppy Disk and LS-120 drivers section, saved with the *.adm extension, and open the editor's context menu by right-clicking on an empty one space in the right area of the tool window.

Select View and select the Filtering node to display the imported administrative template correctly.

Uncheck the box next to "Show only managed policy settings" and confirm the selected changes by clicking OK.
