It is very convenient to create shortcuts, as it allows you to instantly open the programs you need and any other files that may be scattered throughout the computer's hard drive. With the help of a shortcut, you can open these files with a minimum of steps. It is not necessary to go to the folder where the file is located, you can simply create an appropriate shortcut to launch it.

Step 1
The easiest way to add a shortcut to your desktop is to right-click on the file for which you want to create it. In the context menu that appears, select "Send". An additional menu will appear, in which you need to click on the line "Desktop (create a shortcut)". In this way, you can add shortcuts not only to individual files, but also to entire folders. By clicking on the folder shortcut, you will get access to all the files that are in it.
Step 2
There are also times when you need to get access to the desired file very quickly. But to use the shortcut, you need to minimize all windows or running applications. In such cases, it is most convenient to create a shortcut on the Quick Launch. To do this, right-click on an empty space on the taskbar. A context menu will appear, in which select the "Properties" command. The taskbar menu will open, where check the box next to the lines "Show the Quick Launch" and "Show the taskbar on top of other windows". Then click "Apply".
Step 3
Now choose the shortcut you want. Hold down the left mouse button on it and drag it down to the taskbar. Shortcut added to Quick Launch.
Step 4
Also, in addition to files and folders, you can create shortcuts for shutting down and restarting your computer. This will turn off your PC in fast mode. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop. In the menu that appears, click on the "Create" command. An additional menu will appear, in which select "Create shortcut". In the window that appears, enter Shutdown.exe –r to restart the computer and Shutdown.exe –s to shut it down. After you select the command for the shortcut, click "Next", and in the next window - "Finish".
Step 5
The shortcuts for turning on and restarting the operating system are created without a picture. To add an icon for these shortcuts, right-click on them. Then select "Properties" and click on the "Change Icon" tab.
