If you have multiple hard drives installed in your system unit, then you can configure mirrored volumes. In this case, the information will be automatically copied to the second hard drive, the so-called mirror. This connection has many advantages. The most important thing is that your information will always be duplicated on the second hard drive. But, as always there are downsides, the amount of information on both hard drives will be equal to the size of the smallest hard drive. If one hard disk fails, then additional settings are required in order to boot from the second disk.
Instructions
Step 1
First, log into the operating system as an administrator. At the command line, you must enter the regedit command.
Step 2
Find the key HKLMSYSTEMMountedDevices and allow full access to this key. Go to the Security - Permissions menu.
Step 3
Find the drive letter you want to change in the HKLMSYSTEMMountedDevices key. For example "DosDevicesC:"
Step 4
Now you need to change this letter to any unused one, for example "DosDevicesY:"
Step 5
Next, find the second letter you want to change, for example "DosDevicesD:" and replace it with the required one.
Step 6
Then select the value DosDevicesY:, replace it with "DosDevicesD:".
Step 7
Now you can restart your computer
