If it suddenly becomes impossible to read information from a CD / DVD, it must be cleaned. As a result, you can remove scratches, fingerprints and other dirt from the surface of the disc.

Instructions
Step 1
Wipe the disc with a soft cloth or, if possible, remove dust with a can of compressed air. Wipe the media in a straight motion from the center to the outside. Do not under any circumstances perform circulars, as this can damage the disc.
Step 2
Mix alcohol and water in a 1: 1 ratio. Moisten a piece of soft cloth with the resulting solution and wipe the disc with it, as described in the previous step. If there are sticky spots on the surface, such as from sugary drinks or food, remove them with water and diluted dishwashing liquid.
Step 3
Squeeze a small amount of non-abrasive toothpaste onto a saucer and dilute with water. Dip a cotton swab into the resulting solution and polish the scratches on the disc with it. Then rinse the compact under running water. Wipe the disc with a dry soft cloth. Then insert it into the player.
Step 4
If the sound jumps and continues to skip, remove the disc and repeat the cleaning procedure from the beginning. Pay particular attention to ensure that all scratches disappear while polishing the disc with toothpaste.
Step 5
When removing dirt and fingerprints, you can limit yourself to wiping the surface with a cloth dampened with isopropyl, denatured, or ethyl alcohol. When doing this, also move from the center of the disc to its edges, and to top off the process, wipe the disc dry.
Step 6
Remember that aggressive solvents such as gasoline, kerosene or acetone should not be used to clean the “blank”. Such substances can dissolve the disc, rendering it completely unusable.
Step 7
You can also clean the disc by moistening it with water and carefully spreading the foam of regular toilet soap over the entire surface. It can be applied only by hand, not by any means with a sponge. After rinsing, shake the compact well and leave to dry. So that after drying, no streaks remain on the surface, blot it with a terry towel.
