There are several methods you can use to save information from DVDs. The most common of these is the standard copying of files to the hard drive. This option is not universal, because it does not allow you to save important parameters of the DVD drive.

Instructions
Step 1
In order to be able to create an exact copy of the DVD in the future, it is recommended to store the data in the form of an image. To create such an archive, special programs are used. One of them is the Nero Burning Rom utility. Install the specified program and restart your computer.
Step 2
Run the utility shortcut and wait for the main menu to open. Select DVD from the top menu. Now click on the "Rip DVD" icon. Wait for a new window to open.
Step 3
Select the "Recording" tab. Find the item "Use multiple capture devices" and activate it by checking the box. Click the Copy Options tab. Select your working DVD drive in the Source column.
Step 4
Now go to the "Reading Options" tab. In the "Profile selection" column, select the "Data DVD" item if you are not going to create an image of a disc with movies.
Step 5
Activate the "Read with error correction" function. In the "Attempts counter" field, set parameter 3. Be sure to uncheck the "Ignore reading errors" checkbox. Its use very often leads to the creation of a low-quality image.
Step 6
Click the Copy button. The Device field should display two hardware: a real DVD drive and an Image Recorder. Insert the disc to be copied into the drive tray. Click the Ok button.
Step 7
Wait for the ISO disc image creation to complete. This process can take over an hour. The time taken to copy a disk depends on the selected read speed and the characteristics of the drive.
Step 8
Install Daemon Tools Lite to view the contents of the disk image. If you want to burn the ISO file to another DVD drive in the future, use Nero and its DVD-Rom (ISO) function.
