There are situations when the flash drive code is no longer recognized by the operating system. This can be due to various reasons. The user may have neglected the Safely Remove Hardware feature, or it may no longer be detected after a virus infection. To solve the problem, you can try to restore the active partition of the flash drive.
Necessary
- - Computer;
- - flash drive;
- - XG.bsf file for your flash drive;
- - UltraISO program;
- - bootloader Grub4dos;
- - the Grubinst.exe program.
Instructions
Step 1
Insert the USB stick into your computer. Then download the small mFormat program from the Internet. Start it up. In the main menu of the program, select Selected Partition, then - the USB flash drive with which you will work. Then select Format. Now click on the Full parameter and click Start. Wait for the operation to complete.
Step 2
Disconnect the USB flash drive from the computer and immediately insert it back. Then click on "Format Device". Select FAT as the file system, do not confuse it with the FAT 32 file system. Then everything is quite simple. Follow the prompts. At the end of the operation, the flash drive will be active again.
Step 3
You can also use this method. Before you start, you need to download the boot sector file for your flash drive, namely the XG.bsf file. Then save this file to any folder on your hard drive.
Step 4
Download the UltraISO program from the Internet and install it on your computer. Run the program. In its main menu, select "Boot", and then - the "Burn disk image" option. In the next window, select Disk Drive, then your USB flash drive. Next, click on the Xprees option. Another menu will appear. In this menu, select the Restore Drive Bott Sector option and specify the path to the folder where you saved the downloaded XG.bsf file. Then click OK.
Step 5
Now you should download a bootloader called Grub4dos. You can find this file on the Internet. Save the bootloader in any folder. Then download the Grubinst.exe program. Start it up.
Step 6
After launching Grubinst.exe in the main menu, select your USB flash drive and click the Browse button next to the File parameter. Now specify the path to the Grub4dos bootloader file, then click Instal in the program menu. Wait for the installation to complete. Reboot your PC. The flash drive should now work fine.
