The use of webcams for communication has become ubiquitous today, every day more people join the number of those who can not only talk, but also see the interlocutor who is on the other side of the globe. However, in addition to this "traditional" way of use, a webcam can perform not only online video transmission, but also record clips on your computer's hard drive, just like a camcorder does.
It is necessary
Computer, webcam, basic computer skills, webcam software (such as the simple CameraA utility)
Instructions
Step 1
Connect your webcam to your computer and install its driver. By the way, if the camera comes with a disc, it usually contains a program with which you can record video. If so, install it.
Step 2
Launch your webcam software. Before you start recording, you need to set the video parameters. To do this, go to the "Settings" menu (in the English version "Settings") and select "Video settings". Set the resolution of the future video and the required frame rate. The standard resolution is 640x480, and the frame rate is 30 per second. However, many clips are of higher quality, up to Full HD. Higher parameters can be set for such cameras.
Step 3
In the "Record" tab, select "Start Recording". In many programs, the record button is moved to the main window, in this case you do not need to search for its menu. In the window that opens, select which file will be recorded. From this moment until the recording stop button is pressed, the video will be recorded.
Step 4
You can view the recorded material both directly through the program for working with the camera, and through any video player, for example, KMP Player.
