Step 1
Start by cleaning the system registry of unused or invalid files. Download and install CCleaner. Run this utility. Open the "Registry" menu located in the left pane of the application. Select all the items in the Registry Integrity menu with a checkmark. Click the "Search for problems" button and wait for the analysis to complete.
Step 2
Click the Fix button and select Fix Selected. Now open the "Cleanup" menu and click the "Analysis" button. After completing this operation, click the "Cleanup" button. Close the CCleaner program.
Step 3
Download the Advanced System Care utility from www.iobit.com. It will be required to quickly optimize the Windows XP operating system. Install this program and run it. Select the Windows Cleanup menu. Activate the four items in the window that opens by checking the boxes next to them. Click the Scan button. After completing the system analysis procedure, click the "Repair" button.
Step 4
Go to the System Diagnostics menu. Follow the algorithm of operations described in the previous step. Open the Utilities menu. Go to the "Acceleration" tab and open the "RAM" utility. Click the Settings button. Check the boxes next to "Start at Windows startup" and "Clear RAM automatically". Now click the Next button and select the Deep Clean option. Minimize the program window.
Step 5
Open the "My Computer" menu and go to the properties of the system partition of the hard drive. Open the General tab and find the item "Allow indexing of file contents for quick search." Disable it by unchecking the corresponding checkbox. Click the Apply button and wait while new rules are created for this section. Perform this operation for the remaining local drives.
