Not so long ago, the ability to burn discs using a computer was a luxury. The fact is that this required a special optical recorder, which was very expensive. Now, almost every PC has an optical drive DVD ± RW, with which you can record information on discs of any format. You will need appropriate software to burn discs.

Necessary

Personal computer, Nero program, Internet access, disk

Instructions

Step 1

The most popular and convenient program for burning discs on a computer today is Nero. Download and install the program on your PC. On first launch, the program will scan your optical drives. Then you need to restart your computer.

Step 2

After restarting the PC, run the program. From the top-most menu in Nero, select the media with which the information will be recorded. If you have DVD ± RW, select CD / DVD, as these drives will read both CDs and DVDs. If you have CD ± RW (which is rare today, but still happens), select CD only.

Step 3

Next, select the menu for recording information to disk. It is on the far left (an asterisk icon). A menu with options for burning discs will appear in the window at the bottom. Depending on the type of disc to which the information will be recorded, select "Create Data CD" or "Create Data DVD". After selecting the medium, a window will appear, to the right of which there will be the "Add" command. Click on this command. You now have access to all files on your computer. Select the files you want to burn. Make sure that the capacity of the files does not exceed the capacity of the disc to be recorded on. If this limit is exceeded, you will see a corresponding notification at the bottom of the program window.

Step 4

After you have selected all the files you want to burn, click on the "Next" command (at the bottom right of the program window). The process of writing information to the disc will begin. The recording speed may vary depending on the quality of the disc and the amount of information. If the program has set a low recording speed, and the amount of information is large, the recording procedure may exceed the duration of 30 minutes.

Step 5

Upon completion, you will be informed of the successful completion of the procedure. Click "OK" and the burned disc will be ejected from the computer's drive.
