When you install a new additional hard disk in your computer and format it, it is not uncommon for the disk to become dynamic. This may not cause problems for a long time, however, when changing its configuration, including reinstalling the system, the dynamic disk may become invisible to the system. There is a problem of saving information and converting the disk to the main one.

Step 1
Converting a basic disk to a dynamic one usually takes place without any problems and without loss of information, but with the reverse conversion, the loss of information is inevitable. It is for this reason that you should first know exactly for what purpose the conversion of the primary disk to a dynamic one is going on, and whether it should be done at all. If, nevertheless, an irreparable problem occurs and the disk is determined by the system as unsupported, its conversion to the primary becomes necessary.
Step 2
If the dynamic disk to be converted contains valuable or just necessary information, you must make a backup copy of the data before converting. This is not easy to do, especially if the new system does not see the disk. Try to remove the disk from the computer, insert it into the Mobile Rack and, by connecting it to the computer (you can connect to another one), make a data backup. Then you can start converting.
Step 3
Insert a dynamic disk into your computer and connect it. Run the pre-installed HDD Scan software version 3.1 or other. In the program window, select the required disk, then go to the "Surface tests" item, then click "Erase". In principle, you can start erasing the disk for ten to fifteen seconds, and this will be enough, but it is better to erase the disk completely. After the disk is fully formatted, restart your computer.
Step 4
Now launch the Disk Management tab, create a primary partition and format using Windows. This completes the conversion of a dynamic disk to a primary disk. It is also worth noting that if the computer administrator knows about the presence of a dynamic disk in the system, it is imperative to make a backup copy of the data before reinstalling the system, otherwise you may lose all information irrevocably.
