Let's say you needed to write text on a photograph (image, drawing). The Photoshop program allows you to create any inscriptions on photos, as well as correct the text applied to the photo: choose a beautiful font and color for it, choose the appropriate size, mode and font pressure, as well as distort the text or apply the desired special effect.

Instructions

Step 1

Before you start writing text on a photo, check out how to load fonts into Photoshop. It should be borne in mind that the Photoshop program displays only those fonts that are compatible with the OS (operating system) on your computer and with the version of the program itself. Download the archive with the fonts to an archive folder that you can pre-create on your computer.

Step 2

Extract the contents of the archive. To do this, right-click on the folder with the font archive and select "Install" in the drop-down menu. Another option: open the folder with fonts and select "Install" in it.

Step 3

Then start Photoshop. The selected fonts, which are compatible with the computer operating system and your version of Photoshop, will be displayed in the "Font Selection" item in the top panel of the "Text" tool.

Step 4

Open the photo or image that you will be applying the text layer to.

Step 5

To enter an inscription, you need to activate the Type Tool, which is located on the toolbar (another option is the T hotkey). Move the cursor over the Text tool icon and select a writing position. In this case, the Horizontal Text tool will be used.

Step 6

You can enter text in one of two ways: - left-click on the image in the place where you want to make an inscription and print the text;

- put the cursor on the empty space of the photo and write the text.

Step 7

If you enter text outside of a box, it turns out to be one long line. To move to the next line, press the Enter key. If you write an inscription in a frame, then upon reaching the edge of the frame, the text wraps to the next line automatically. If you do not see part of the text, this does not mean that it is missing. Just drag out the frame and you will see the entire text.

Step 8

Having previously selected the text with the mouse, you can experiment with the font, its size and color, and other parameters of the text. All of these options can be selected from the Text toolbar at the top of the screen.

Step 9

Go to the font selection item and select a font for the text in the drop-down menu.

Step 10

Choose a suitable font size as well.

Step 11

Set the font color. To change the color, click the window in the same toolbar and in the appeared palette select the color you need.

Step 12

Also you can change the selection of the mode / font pressure.

Step 13

You can also warp (warp) text using the warp tool.

Step 14

Select this tool and in the window that appears, set the desired text distortion style. For example, "Flag" or "Wave".

Step 15

In the same window, adjust the text deformation parameters: for example, bend, distortion horizontally or vertically.

Step 16

To distort the text even more, you can in addition apply the commands: "Editing" (Edit) -> "Free Transform" (Free Transform). Another way is the Cntr + T key combination.

Step 17

You can move or shift the created inscription on the photo using the "Move" tool on the toolbar.

Step 18

The caption on the photo is ready.
